Blurb:
Your son said he was home. WHY DID HE LIE?
It's time to preorder the brand new up-all-night thriller from the Sunday Times bestselling author of Richard and Judy pick The Holiday, now a major TV Drama.
I should have known something was wrong. I should have sensed it. Felt it in the air, like the build-up of pressure before a thunderstorm, that heavy, loaded calm.
The curfew
Andy and Laura are good parents. They tell their son Connor that he can go out with friends to celebrate completing his exams, but he must be home by midnight.
The lie
When Connor misses his curfew, it sets off a series of events that will change the lives of five families forever.
The truth?
Because five teenagers went into the woods that night, but only four came out. And telling the truth might mean losing everything...
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
My Thoughts:
Having previously read and loved novels by this author, I was excited to see his name pop into my inbox.
A quick glance at the blurb and I was pulled in. One of my favourite themes within thrillers is the 'it could be you' angle, with characters tested to their limit when something goes horribly wrong and they have to find their way through.
The Curfew didn't disappoint - wonderfully short chapters to keep you turning pages, twists and turns all the way through. Since reading, I've been dying to share my thoughts with someone so I was itching to review and watch the rest of the blog tour unfold to see the response. I haven't read a TM Logan novel for a while, and I think this is the best one I've read so far - the characters all well developed with shades of grey and unreliable narrators. I was genuinely on the edge of my seat reading from the first chapter.
I can't say much more about the plot of course - never give spoilers - but needless to say, this book hooked me all the way through. I'd highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a domestic thriller, such a fast-paced story told through multiple POV (one of my favourite tools in writing)
Thanks so much to Tracy at Compulsive Readers for inviting me to be part of the tour and to Zaffre for sending me a copy for review.
